I hope everyone is safe and sound after the hurricane. Thankfully we were hit the hardest over the night and never lost electricity like most. I know several families down south who lost their homes. So sad!
Yesterday we decided to take the plunge and go to the Linganore Wine Festival. They make a few of our favorite wines and we couldn't resist playing in the rain, good music, great friends and WINE!
We went with these lovebirds who are getting married in 3 weeks! I am so excited to see the person I first called my best friend walk down the aisle, she is going to be gorgeous! I can't believe we are all grown up, those past 20 years went by quick!
We got rained on but had such a great time dancing in the rain, playing catch phrase (i always come prepared) and sampling all of our favorite wines!
I kept our empty wine bottles, with two more in the fridge, for a fun DIY I found on Pinterest. Wine bottle tiki torches! I am so excited to make those. I am saving the corks for a homemade corkboard for my office :)
luckily the only damage at the house were LOTS of fallen branches.
and our apple tree looked like it threw up all over the place.
not that these guys were complaining.
i had to pick up some apple cider at the grocery store.
It is definitely feeling like mother nature is on the cusp of bringing us fall and I am all for it! hope everyone is safe and with power! did you use any of my suggestions of things to do indoors during a storm?
Aww sorry about the loss of power. We actually thought we were gonna get hit but it ended up going up north. Glad you were safe!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you were safe during the hurricane. There wasn't any serious damage here in Baltimore either...thank goodness! That wine festival sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're safe! There are lots of stray tree limbs on the ground DC too, but fortunately that seems to be the worst of the damage. I WISH we had piles of apples as well though...I say it's a good excuse to make a pie! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a great weekend. I'm glad to hear that you're safe!
ReplyDeleteWine + Friends = Awesome looking time! :-) Glad you had a good time and were all safe during the hurricane! Ohh....apple cider? That looks so good! I remember when I grew up in MI always going to the Cider Mills in the fall...so fun!

love your little yellow rain boots :)
ReplyDeleteI just got little pink flowery ones at Target and I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of (extremely) excited to break them out.
Fall's definitely right around the corner! I'm ready for it. Bring on the crisp weather and pumpkins, please! I love, love, love your yellow boots.
ReplyDeleteI never realized how pretty your yard was! Maybe the extra rain will keep it green a bit longer. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of you getting fall! NC is still definitely in full on "summer" weather. I'm OBSESSED with Pinterest and the DIY stuff. I keep re-pinning alot of your stuff, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you're safe! That would be so scary!
ReplyDeleteIronically, now that it's almost fall, California has decided to grace us with 90 degree weather for the past week. I am so ready to bust out my cardigans!
I usually don't care about fall since I'm from Florida and A) we don't really have fall and B) why would we want anything to ruin our beach time? But now that I'm in Colorado I can't wait to see the season change and feel the crisp weather instead of this dry heat!
